Alessandro Medini. Genius.

"Irony is quite hard to come by. And that is because irony is something that causes you to laugh at yourself. Not many people are willing to laugh at themselves, because everyone seems to think they are worth more."

Collection "Mobili per Uomo" for Bisazza (1997-2008)

'Iconic objects become fixed,' says Mendini. 'But to me the [Proust] armchair is not a crystalised object at all because I'm still researching into it'; shown here, 'Poltrona Monumentale di Proust' (2005)

Day 45. Not enough time. Longest Random Post

I wish I could post once a day. Lately I have no time for anything. I guess it's a good sign, but don't you just wish you could get everything done?!
It's pouring rain outside and no clients coming in, so today is my Blogging day!

Here are some lovely interiors to inspire you:

This interior was designed by Ryra Studio for Barin resort, which is situated 1 km away from Shemshak ski resort (second largest ski area in Iran) and the idea was to emphasize the relation between nature and architecture, which I think they've achieved brilliantly. You can find more images and information here.

I think using wallaper in bathrooms adds a lot of style and character. Pictures from Dizain Mania.

"Twister" resaurant in Kiev. Designed by Sergey Makhno. Pictured from TheCoolHunter. I miss home..

Skype's new Stockholm office. Chairs from Crassevig, floors by Bolon and soft furnishings by Blå Station.

Lighting is Diesel by Foscarini and these bar stools are from Johanson design! The seat is made of recycled water bottles, isn't that amazing!? And I know it because I've visited both stands at Salone del Mobile :)

I think there's enough random information for one Post. I hope you enjoyed it. More coming :)

Spring. Flower power

Spring for me has always been about colors and nature. You can actually make a connection between designers mood and his/her design and I'm not only talking about interior design, but about fashion, product design and even graphic.

Here are some bright and colorful inspirations:

Lulu Ginness. She is definitely an inspitarion for women in design world, starting from working at home and getting where she is now you have to have brilliant ideas and endless inspiration. She's a great fashion, product and interior designer.

Roche Bobois has always had a perfect combination of texture and colour, aged and new. Collection "Les Provinciales".

Stunning Daum has been seducing every collector, designer and artist for 130 years. They are one of the few companies in the world that have worked with such amazing artists as Salvador Dali, Arman, César, Dailey, Deluol and many more. I will definitely be after some of these amazing sculptures/vases when I will decorate my own place. When I grow up :)

Hope you have a lovely Tuesday!
